Townhall Meeting at the Riverbend Community League
March 02, 2007
On Saturday, February 24 at 1:30 pm I hosted a Townhall Meeting at the Riverbend Community League. I would like to thank those constituents who attended.

We had the opportunity to discuss pressing matters facing the government, and I was able to hear what message constituents want me to bring to Ottawa.

Amongst the topics discussed were the Kyoto accord and the Clean Air Act, Canada’s role in Afghanistan, Income Trusts, the government’s settlement with Maher Arar, and Senate reform.

I believe that townhall meetings are a most valuable resource for me in determining what constituents want. While this townhall was indeed productive, I hope that in the future even more constituents will attend and voice their concerns - regardless of their political stripes.

Please let me know what you believe would be valuable topics for discussion in these meetings. Do not hesitate to contact my office if you have any suggestions.
